CHINESE WOMAN: ??

JOHN: *annunciates to me* Hot Nee- YAY

ME: Kyom, some hot neeyay Khmer. (I’m practicing Khmer.)

CHINESE WOMAN: *smiles and says something to John*

JOHN: Ok, go.

ME: Chuhmuh eh. (What’s your name?)

WOMAN: *tells me her name which I don’t remember, asks me my name*

Me: Knyom chuhmuh Jessica. (obvious) Mow pe kite nah? (What province are you from?)

WOMAN: *confused for a moment, then understands* Phnom Penh!

ME: Ok, awe-gun. (Ok, thank you.)
